A Post in Five Parts

Part I
I just finished taking notes on seventeen textbook pages about Earth's interior and plate tectonics, and I don't think my brain retained a single word. It's all for this semester project, which consists of taking notes, taking more notes on the same thing in a different format, watching videos, filling out worksheets, taking online quizzes, posting in the class forum, and a trip to the school planetarium; the planetarium is the only worthwhile part of the entire thing, I think. Most of the stuff I just took notes on is stuff I already know, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of note-taking in the first place. And then I have to take more notes on the same exact thing I just took notes on (plate tectonics, Earth's interior, etc), only this time it's from a website that, I think, is geared towards younger children.
It's a good thing that some of the worksheets and videos are classwork and not homework.

Part II
[This may or may not be humorous. If you feel that this isn't funny, please don't yell at me. Thanks.]

Dear "Next Blog" Function,

I know that you really want to try to give me similar blogs that you hope will pique my interest, but, really, variety is nice. Just because I spend about 0.0001 seconds on the blog does not mean I like the subject matter. It takes time for me to click "Next Blog," and so that time will be spent clicking and not actually reading.
You seem to think that you must give me blogs on just one topic. Please don't feel that you need to give me long strings of blogs written in languages I do not understand, or just the same two over and over again because they are the only blogs on some particular topic. I would appreciate just a random sampling, please.
It's terrible to have to start over when you get stuck on only blogs written in Japanese or blogs about people's families; you really need to broaden your horizons a bit. The first random blog you come across does not have to dictate the rest.

Sincerely,
xiy

Part III
[There will be some spoilers, I think, so read with care.]

AHH HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART ONE!
Now, I'm no Harry Potter geek, but I do rather enjoy the series. I'm also no movie critic, so I can't really give any sort of in-depth review (for an actual review, you may want to see Virgil's review of said movie). However, I did really, really love it. They stuck closely to the books and didn't leave too much out.
Dobby's death was particularly sad; I didn't think I was going to cry, but I did. What's interesting is that, in my opinion, Dumbledore's death was sadder in the book (actually, what was really sad was his funeral) but it wasn't so sad in the movie. It was dramatic and all, but not nearly as tear-inducing as poor Dobby's (which, I think, was sadder in the movie than in the book).
As I have said, I can't really offer much else in terms of a review. So I'll leave it at that.

. . .and this is what xiy does when she is bored

The above is the product of extreme boredom science class. There's a lot of time between me arriving at school and the actual commencement of the class, and I forgot to bring a book.

Sorry it's hard to see. In short, the picture comprises of:

Top Row [left to right]
Person shouting "GAAAAAH"; two drunk elves; a dog; a cat; a bird; a random black-robed wizard; the dog's owner chasing after the dog; a bunch of fairy-bugs; a snake; a winged unicorn; Death; some random person running just for the fun of it

Middle Row [right to left]
Polyphemus; sheep; Link; more sheep; angry ancient Greeks; butterflies; lady with her hair in a bun; Voldemort; kangaroo; strange-looking owl; Harry Potter

Bottom Row [left to right]
Hermes; cows; faun riding a donkey-horse-mule-thing*; a smallish dragon; Kain Highwind; Dicaeopolis**; Xanthias**, who is sleeping and being dragged along; Myrrhine**, who is saying, "husband! hurry!"; random evil-armor wearing person

Sigh. School is so very useless.

*I realize just how difficult it is for a faun to ride anything. Humor me, please.

**Dicaeopolis, Xanthias, and Myrrhine are all characters from an Ancient Greek textbook called Athenaze.

The Obligatory Introduction Post

Hello there.
I have started a few blogs on various occasions, and on various occasions I have failed to post anything really meaningful or interesting for others to read.
I'm not sure how meaningful or interesting this blog will become; it probably won't be that particularly memorable.

If, wonder of wonders, this blog does catch your interest, I hope you stay. It's nice to feel that I've got readers. ^.^

Anyway, yeah. An actual post shall be soon forthcoming.
